Although I sympathise with the views of the majority of emails that I receive they will have to be decent and proper views like mine!!!!! gerrit???
I get emails sent to me concerning how angry punters feel about being ripped off by tipping cons like CHANNEL 4 RACINGS TOMMO (con man) and THE SELF PROCLAIMED PROFESSIONAL GAMBLER NEVISON WITH HIS BLOODY BAD TIPPING SERVICE!(another con man!)
I will not publish email names for obvious reasons.
UNLIKE BETFAIR YOU WILL NOT BE BANNED FOR LIFE FOR TELLING THE TRUTH!!
Below are emails that raise very valid reasons for the initiation of my blog re tipping con men. And there are plenty. After Thompson and Nevison.... Who's next?
Something needs to be done to scurge these parasites from the great British instition of Horse Racing. Question. Do you think that the Racing Post know that Derek Thompson and Dave Nevisin mislead their readers? Question. If they said they did not, would you believe them? And what about BHB? Do they themselves not know? And pigs might fly!!!! .... Back scratchers!!!!!......All of them!!!

Has Tommo's Racing Club closed down ? This is now my 2nd. request for information. Each time he says that he will reply within 48 hours but he fails to do so. Perhaps it is no longer operating and has gone out of business.
This is my request..... I sent this enquiry to you on Saturday, 31st. January. You promised me a reply within 48 hours but you have failed to do this. I then sent it again on the 2nd. February and you again said that you would reply within 48 hours but you failed to do so. Would you now please give me the information I am asking for.

Nevison back to full page ad today, p8 RP. but in black and white ( no colour) - perhaps he's mourning those 5 beaten favourites he "sold" yesterday.
The ad, names 13 winners he has given between 17th Jan and 29th Jan with SP's and gives comments as to how they won
e.g. "turned race into a procession" "powered home to settle the issue" "scored with something to spare"
There is no mention of losers so there is no need for him to use expressions like "beaten a long way from home", "not jump well and pulled up" or "gradually faded and tailed off" (like some of his tips yesterday)
So, the 17th Jan to the 29th Jan, thats 13 racing days - and Nevison tips at least 8 horses a day, so that must be at least 100 tips over that time and just 13 winners. Well at least there's room in the advert these days for Nevison to give an account of the 87 losers he must have given out. And I'm sure he can also find a bit of room to tell everybody what his P&L was for the 090 number in January (hopefully in colour again)

Here's a quick thought -
With horse racing just been called off for the day, what about those unfortunate souls who have phoned the 090 men for tips already and spent their £1.50's ?
Will Nevison, Thompson etc do the decent thing and credit the callers with a refund through the service providers or will they simply pocket the cash ?

........... and another thought, with all racing now off today why don't these 090 guys just pull the message immediately to stop people ringing up and wasting their money. Just replace it with a short message "racing on Monday has been abandoned" and don't charge the callers. There's bound to be some people who don't yet know racing's been called off.
Another thing about Nevison - last time he was in the RUK studio taking viewers e-mails with McNae, I sent in a request for him to quote his P&L for the year "live" on air. The e-mail wasn't read out. I wonder why.
If Nevison reads Gerry's blog, perhaps a polite request to him to quote his P&L next time he's on RUK might work (or would it embarass him ?)

I sent this request for information to Thompson's racing club on Saturday and they promised a reply within 48 hours.
The time has now elapsed and still no answer. If they do ever reply, I think they might say it was his own previous record (in which case everything he does is a record because he doesn't get any opposition).
Or the term Record Breaker could hastily disappear from his ad. Below is my enquiry, word-for-word.

I have just spotted Dave Nevison's tipping advert in the paper today. He's back to a quarter page and in black and white.
Dave says that "the professional approach has been paying dividends in the last few weeks"
But can somebody ask him to explain what happened last Sunday. I backed all his tips because he said he was in good form. He gave out 6 losers, most of them favourites, and I ended up losing money. The telephone call must have cost me about £10 as well because he rambled on for at least 6 minutes.
Perhaps the "professional approach" means having a losing day. Or could he explain in more detail through his newspaper column. Over to you Dave.

Is there a scam within a scam happening somewhere.?
Thompson advertises tips down a phone for 4p a minute. But what is the telephone number ? You are only provided with a phone number once your £150 is in his sweaty palm.
And once you are in the club, Thompson will sell you a range of bets, e.g. "exclusives", "maximums", "lays", "dark horses" etc....
Are these all on the same number and at 4p a minute ? Doubtful.
Thompson sells tips through a text service as well. Its in the small print of his 090 RP ad. He charges £2 a call for text tips and states the maximum you will ever spend is £14 a week. Worryingly, he will text you every day and charge you every day unless you tell him to STOP. To do this, you have to text him back on a separate number
So although he is selling telephone tips at 4p a minute, how much is a text tip ? And who's to say that the dark horses, exclusive maximums etc... can only be had via the expensive text method.
He's got to get his money from somewhere.
If only a current member (if there are any) or an ex-member would speak out and tell us. I'm not parting with £150 just to find out.

"Being used to entice the poor unsuspecting gullible souls to join a Racing Club that requires a payment of £150 before they see anything for their money.
So, 6 tips a day...30 days in November 2006!)... that's 180 tips.....and 61 winners !! Not bad, a strike rate of over 33%. But wait a minute, what were the winners SP's ? Can't find them anywhere.
So lets look at it again, 61 winners also means 119 losers. I had £5 on each of those losers so I'm £595 down on them, then I spent £6.00 a day on phone calls for the whole month, so thats another £180 spent, so I'm down in total £775 just betting a fiver on each tip. And then there's the money I shelled out to join this Club in the first place. So I need to know the SP's of those winners to see if it pays. Come on Tommo, 33% strike rate is impressive but what were the SP's. That will tell us if you made a profit or not...... you did make a profit with all those winners didn't you Derek ???? And one last thing Derek, could you show us a few more nice blue charts (and preferably some that are not 22 months old.) I'd like a chart from November 2008 and December 2008 Derek, could you send me one. Should be easy to make, you managed to make a good chart in November 2006. And I've just looked at the calendar, its February on Sunday Derek. So next week, could you make me a nice blue chart showing the winners for January 2009 please, and don't forget to put the SP's on there. You never know, I might just renew my membership to your Racing Club !!
PS. Derek, I've been told to ask you for your P/L, but I'm a little old lady who doesn't understand what that means - I just like the colour blue.
